We will begin by shooting a “before” video of you throwing backhand, sidearm and putting.
Then the learning starts! The Scott Stokely Disc Golf Method focuses on the correct mechanics of the backhand. Getting your body in the optimum positions is the key to maximize power and speed on your backhand throw. Once the steps are imprinted, we will shift to refine throwing accurately with finesse, as well as approach shots.
With the correct mechanics of the sidearm we will determine whether you are a “windmill” or “pendulum” thrower. Working with your whole body, you will increase your forehand power, accuracy and consistency.
No player has a complete Disc Golf game without solid putting. We will figure out if you are a “push”, “spin” or “sploosh” putter and then refine your form so you make more putts.
To complete your arsenal of disc golf shots we will cover Rollers, Thumbers, Tomahawks, Grenades, Scoobers, and Turbo Putts. These are NOT trick shots, they are a less frequently used, yet essential part of your game.
Socially distanced lunch will be provided. During mealtime, we will discuss the mental approach to competitive play and how to not let your brain get in your own way. Learn the strategy of course management and tournament preparation.
To wrap things up, we will spend additional time on any area where you need more work. This will differ from player to player. Last, we will shoot the “after” portion of your “before and after” video.
