Philip Bartholomew started playing Disc Golf when he was 12 years old on a local pitch and putt course in Raleigh, NC. Growing up an athletic kid with ADHD, he had tons of energy and began to play Disc Golf daily as an outlet. By high school, Philip stopped playing all other sports and dedicated his time to disc golf with the dream of being a touring Professional Disc Golfer. He started competing in the MPO Division at age 15.

In 2018, Philip found a new love for the game, helping other players get better, and realized that teaching disc golf could make his dreams of touring come true. Over the next three years, he taught hundreds of disc golf lessons. He had many successes with his students but came to recognize there was something missing necessary to reach certain students. In 2020, Philip met Scott Stokely and was eager to work closely with him on teaching and disc golf skills. Scott had nothing but positive remarks about Phil's game, personality and teaching ability.
Philip saw the Stokely Disc Golf Method work one hundred percent of the time with the students he observed and knew that this was the way he wanted to teach Disc Golf. Philip Bartholomew was certified as the first Stokely Method Coach in 2021 and is currently pursuing his passion of living the Disc Golf life.
